JUNIOR HARNESS AND SIMULATOR

The club has purchased a number of junior size harnesses for loan to our junior anglers. As we all know, kids grow quickly and a harness is an expensive outlay when they may only need it for a short time.

Due to the expense, a $100 fully refundable deposit is required and the length of the loan will be negotiated as appropriate. Be assured that if it is not returned by the agreed date, consider it sold and expect a bill! Purchasing the harness is only the first part of the jigsaw. It is difficult to teach someone to use a new bit of kit correctly when hooked to a big fish from a rolling deck so we have also purchased a simulator. We purchased it second hand and after a quick trip back to the manufacturer, it is working a treat.
As you can see by the above picture, we work very hard at our Committee meetings to ensure that everything is in top condition! Putting our juniors into a harness and teaching them how to use it properly in a low stress environment seems to make sense – it’s fun for us adults as well. Take it from me that the simulator is great fun and it does make you sweat. It will be part of our stand at the Bayside Festival so come along and have a try. It will also be set up in the club rooms. If you would like a try, just contact a committee member to arrange a time.
